Our story begins on April 18, 1970, when Josè and Emilia Couto, along with their children, embarked on a courageous journey from Portugal to America , driven by the pursuit of the American dream. Arriving in Danbury, Connecticut they faced challenges of a new country- navigating a language barrier, unfamiliar surroundings, and the unknown.Yet, through it all, their unwavering support for one another forged an unbreakable family bond that continues to thrive to this day.

Together they went.

Fast forward to 2025, and the legacy of the Couto Family lives on in Fort Worth, Texas through EMA J. HOMES. Rooted in the same vision, passion, and determination that propelled Josè and Emilia on their journey, our family owned company embodies the values of Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence.
